Haven't done any serious planning on this one yet, but figured I'd give everybody an early announcement for July that we're going schedule our own launch for July 9th.
I'm also planning on heading out to the TSM launch near Owatonna on the 23rd. These guys have a big field and good waiver of 9,000 MSL (8,000 AGL), with a 12,000 MSL open window from noon till 1pm if you contact them ahead of time.

Hi everyone, I was able to get in contact with whom I think is the last landowner/farmer around our new proposed site, as described in the posts for our June launch. So, I think we can proceed with applying for the waiver for that field! Dave

David, that's fantastic news. I'll get looking at the maps again, and send you over the info that I THINK we need to have for the waiver. Even if we don't get a waiver, think we might be able to fly there on the 9th with another LPR/MPR launch? Would be good to get a feel for it with more sane motor sizes before breaking out the big stuff.
I also got a few freebies in the mail yesterday from E-Rockets for the club, a couple of reflective safety vests. Had no idea there were coming .... they just showed up.

If we have the launch later in the afternoon or early evening, that will work best for me. I have a previous commitment for 1-5 that my wife and I would like to go to for most of that time.

The other option would be to push the launch to the 10th. Whichever is easiest for you.

Put out the e-mail blast today, for a Saturday time. I put 4:30 pm, mainly just so I can go a bit early and start getting a good look at the field. I don't expect to be flying until 5pm at the earliest, I still haven't fixed any of my own launch equipment yet from last year. (Actually, I think my sawhorse is still at Dad's up in Webster, whoops!)
I hate that I'm always begging you guys to lend gear for this, we need to get some club owned stuff soon.

We'll just have to keep an eye on the wind, looks like it's set to come out of the SE. So we'll have to plan for that when it comes to recovery areas, we may end up flying from further south along that road. Either way, weather looks fine, so this launch is a GO!!!!!!
I also realized I'm seriously short on motors right now. But I've got a few to fly. My Mega Mosquito, now nicknamed 'charbroiled' will be flying again. I'm also going to bring THOOOM!!!!! in case weather looks good. Not sure if I'll be hoisting that on a G65 or H87. Time to get the altimeter mounted and prep the charges. I need to get some motors!
