Well, talk about a face-plant for the end of 2016. The waiver didn't arrive in time to get any high power launches, and crops took too long to dry out and get harvested. But there is good news!
I FINALLY got in touch with the folks at the FAA I need to speak with to get a waiver handled next year. The address moved but I now have the proper phone numbers, e-mail, and mailing address for the gentleman that handles rocketry waivers. We have a very nice conversation today that went quite well. Looks like we won't have any issues in the spring getting a proper waiver handled for our new field, and he said there's a very good chance to get the 10,000ft I had requested. Not only that but the application process is actually now easier than the triplicate and snail-mail process that I went through. So it'll be quicker and easier for me to get the application in, plus a faster response.
The ONLY hitch in the plan is that Minneapolis Center would like to have the actual dates when I file it. Something we can sit down and settle during a December/January/February meeting.
I'd also like to apologize for so little info coming through the past couple months. It's been an extremely busy Summer and Autumn for me. Either way I'm excited going into 2017 as we should be in much stronger shape once we get some high fliers going.

Just realized that if we're going to start launching true high power rockets, we're going to have to get a longer range launch controller. For most launches we're going to need a 100ft length on the controller. Any kind of clusters will need 200ft.
Is this something any of us have already? Or should I start looking for something that we can get with an annual club grant from the NAR?
